Within the editing and proofreading services we aim to improve the overall presentation of the manuscript, its content and scope. The editor may suggest improvements for the author to make, or identify areas where rewrites may be necessary. The editor will not do the rewrites. The manuscript will also be examined to ensure that the author’s meaning is expressed clearly, and that the choice of words and the punctuation is correct. Checking for consistency is also involved and this will include checking such things as spelling. The editor will also want to ensure that any necessary copyright permission, where quotations or illustrations are being used, has been granted.
